Medical University of Bialystok and the University Clinical Hospital set up the Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Lung Cancer. The goal of the established Lung Cancer Unit is to provide better and coordinated patient care.

This is the first such center in Poland. The doctors of the Center will cooperate with radiotherapy specialists from the Białystok Center of Oncology. The center will offer adequate facilities for diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer, where experienced specialists will deal with the treatment. The center is also to have access to all methods needed for diagnosis and therapy.

UMB emphasizes that lung cancer is still the leading cause of cancer deaths in people around the world.
