31.05.2019

Researchers at the Medical University of Gdańsk received a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Innovative Training Networks grant for the implementation of the PRECODE project: PancREatic Cancer OrganoiDs rEsearch.

The project assumes the implementation of innovative doctoral thesis in an international team and the promotion of a new generation of scientists in model systems and methods for the development of effective therapies for pancreatic cancer. It will be implemented in a consortium of 15 European universities: Universita degli Studi di Verona from Italy, the Spanish University of Navarra, the Scottish University of Glasgow, the Dutch Universiteit Leiden and the Karolinska Institutet and Umea Universitet from Sweden. The coordinator of the work is the German University in Erlangen.

Gdańsk scientists will develop a model of interaction between pancreatic cancer organoids and platelets in the context of the metastasis process and assess its suitability for studying the antineoplastic activity of drugs and screening of newly synthesized compounds.
