The University Centre for Robotic Surgery (UCCR) was officially opened at the Medical University of Wrocław. The ceremony was attended by the Deputy Minister of Education and Science Wojciech Murdzek.
Robotic surgery in Poland is developing at a rapid pace. In order to maintain this trend, it is not enough to have a robot – specialists who are able to perform surgery using it are needed. At the UCCR in Wrocław, doctors are already training in this surgical technique, gaining experience. There are plans to move further in this direction, making maximum use of the centre’s potential.
Specialised training to the highest standards at the UCCR is provided by experienced medical and teaching staff with top-of-the-range equipment. In addition to the da Vinci Xi robot, the UCCR robotic room is equipped with a state-of-the-art multimedia system, which enables live streaming of the operations being performed and two-way contact between the operating team and the students.
