Researchers of the Opole University of Technology (PO) were cited more than 14,500 times worldwide in 2022. This is another record. In 2021, they were cited more than 11,000 times; the year before, the number was 6,700 and was already higher than years before, the university reports.
“Of course, another record in the number of citations of our scientists is a great satisfaction and a reason to be proud. These numbers are, above all, a clear signal from the world that publications of our research are visible and needed, such data puts us at the forefront of universities, and not only in Poland”, says Prof. Grzegorz Królczyk, Vice-Chancellor for Science and Development at the PO.
An analysis of the Web of Science Core Collection database shows that PO scientists were most often cited in the following disciplines: mechanical engineering (43 authors, 8028 citations), environmental engineering, mining and power engineering (34 authors, 1617 citations) and automatics, electronics, electrical engineering and space technologies (59 authors, 1426 citations).
