The Municipal Climate Education Programme “Climate Katowice” was officially inaugurated at the Youth Palace in Katowice. This original programme is intended to help young people understand the impact of environmental degradation on their future, as well as to expand their knowledge and skills.

The endeavour is also intended to help build commitment among students and increase their sense of agency in tackling the effects of global warming.

The programme includes ready-made lesson plans and practical activities. The intention was to adopt an interdisciplinary nature of the environmental content presented, to return to cross-curricular pathways or to use methods based on student involvement.

The lesson plans form a coherent catalogue of content discussing climate change in four thematic areas: anthropogenic climate change, biodiversity, critiquing consumerism and energy transition.
