23.04.2021

The Center for Research on Social and Economic Risks of Collegium Civitas in Warsaw are inviting participants to the webinar “New technologies used in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic”, which will take place on April 28, 2021 at 18.00.

During the webinar, the participants will discuss the topics related to privacy, human rights or the protection of personal data as well as social exclusion resulting from the lack of access to new technologies.

In the invitation to the event, the Warsaw university points out that the crisis related to the pandemic is a time of rapid development and use of new technologies, which, however, should be accompanied by reflection on the potential risks associated with this process.

It also reminds that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is widely used in the fight against the coronavirus, including when detecting symptoms of coronavirus and controlling infected people, as well as Big Data technologies. The number of people and institutions forced to use digital technologies has increased many times. The activity of streaming platforms and those responsible for cashless transactions also increased.
