Collegium Polonicum library affiliated at FamilySearch

03.03.2020

The Collegium Polonicum Library of the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań has obtained the status of a library affiliated with FamilySearch – an American organization that provides free access to billions of genealogical data to users around the world.

Thanks to this affiliation, users of the Collegium Polonicum Library will gain easy access to digital record books from Poland, Germany and other countries of the world, and in particular to many restricted collections that cannot be used on home computers. Genealogists and other interested persons will be able to use these collections on forty computers in the library reading room.

The Collegium Polonicum library has thus joined about 800 public libraries around the world that offer their users extended access to record data collected by FamilySearch and is the first such library in Central and Eastern Europe.
