Construction of the Centre for Sport and Recreation at the Maritime University in Gdynia is almost completed

A Sports and Recreation Centre is being built at the Maritime University in Gdynia. Construction of the complex began in mid-2022, The investment, worth around PLN 58 million, was subsidised by the state budget and the university’s own funds. The opening is scheduled for the second quarter of 2024. 

The Centre will include: a full-size sports hall with a climbing wall, 8 changing rooms with full sanitary facilities, a changing room for referees and staff with sanitary facilities, rooms for coaches, service space, guest rooms for athletes, training staff with kitchenettes and bathrooms for 40 people, an auditorium for 130 people, sanitary facilities for spectators, a fitness area and gym, a sauna, office spaces, a conference room, technical space and underground parking for 49 spaces.

The modern sports hall will eventually be connected by a link to the new student house, the construction of which is the second phase of the sports and academic complex.
