Days of the Mother Tongue at the University of Warmia and Mazury

The Department of Polish Language and Logopaedics and the Department of Polish Literature at the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn would like to invite students to jointly celebrate the International Mother Language Day.

A meeting with Sylwia Chutnik, a well-known writer, columnist and social activist, hosted by Dr Joanna Chłosta-Zielonka, Professor at UWM, is planned for 20 February.

21 February will be marked by various competitions. Everyone will be able to take part in a dictation test and a quiz prepared by female students of Polish philology. A lecture on multiword lexical units, to be delivered by Dr Monika Czerepowicka, is also scheduled for that day.

The celebrations of the Days of the Mother Tongue will be concluded on 22 February with a lecture by Prof. Sławomir Buryła from the University of Warsaw entitled Cień Mansona. The image of American counterculture in “The Fifth Angel” by Jan Józef Szczepański.
