Debate “Cardinal Karol Wojtyła – facts, archives, interpretations”

The debate ‘Cardinal Karol Wojtyła – facts, archives, interpretations’ will be held on 29 March at the Catholic University of Lublin (KUL).

During the event, eminent historians and experts on the history of the Catholic Church in Poland will answer questions concerning, among other things, recent allegations against Pope John Paul II. The discussion with the participation of Dr Paweł Skibiński, Dr Ewa Czaczkowska, Dr Robert Derewenda and Dr Łucja Marek will be moderated by the editor Krzysztof Ziemiec.

Among the issues to be discussed during the debate at the Catholic University of Lublin will be media publications concerning Cardinal Karol Wojtyła, the socio-historical context of Cardinal Wojtyła’s time as Metropolitan of Krakow, his surveillance by the services of the communist regime, the methodology of working with archival materials, including those from the resources of the Institute of National Remembrance, and the actions of John Paul II on the protection of children and young people.
