Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Science and Higher Education Jarosław Gowin announced that by 2021 wages of Polish scientists will increase by 30 percent compared to the ending 2018.

– Their earnings at universities are still significantly lower from the real worth the work of academic lecturers and scientists – said Deputy Prime Minister Gowin.

The Ministry of Science estimates that wage increases will affect almost 41 thousand academic teachers. The cost will increase the expenditures of the state budget by PLN 916.5 million. According to the government budget assumptions for 2019, expenditures on science and higher education are to amount to PLN 26.5 billion and will be higher by PLN 2 billion compared to the current year.
