Students of Wrocław University of Science and Technology and their Photon Light Electric Motorcycle did an excellent job in the international Moto Student competition in the Spanish Alcaniz. They won the cup for the best debutants and took 6th place in the general classification.
70 student teams from four continents took part in the competition (46 presented electric motorbikes). In addition to the joint race, points were given for technical and business presentations, dynamic tests and so-called rain tests – pouring water over the motorcycle in order to check its tightness and safety in terms of possible current leakage.
LEM Photon is the first electric road motorcycle developed by Polish students. Its maximum speed is 195 km / h. It is equipped with a permanent magnet synchronous motor with a maximum power of 42 kW. Young constructors from the Science Club of Vehicles and Mobile Robots designed the battery, telemetry system and motorcycle cover from scratch.
