Faculty of Geology at the University of Warsaw receives authorization by the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency

The Department of Hydrogeology and Geophysics, Faculty of Geology, University of Warsaw (UW) has been authorized by the President of the National Atomic Energy Agency (PAA). Together with four other research centers, it will provide PAA with expert support.

Units authorized by the PAA President will be able to play the role of TSO (Technical Support Organization), ie organization of technical support during the construction and operation of a nuclear power plant in Poland.

Work of the Department of Hydrogeology and Geophysics, Faculty of Geology, University of Warsaw will be geological research for the purposes of atomic science. The authorization was received by Prof. Ewa Krogulec, UW Vice-Rector for Development, head of the Department of Hydrogeology and Geophysics, University of Warsaw from the PAA president, Łukasz Młynarkiewicz.

The other four units authorized by the PAA President include: Central Laboratory for Radiological Protection; Institute of Hydroengineering of the Polish Academy of Sciences; Institute of Nuclear Chemistry and Technology and the Institute of Meteorology and Water Management – National Research Institute.
