First in Poland Innovation Box Report

10.07.2018

The Coalition Foundation for Polish Innovation and experts from the Crido company prepared the first report on the Innovation Box mechanism in Poland. They collected case studies of the implementation of the Innovation Box in over a dozen European countries and in Israel.

In Poland, entrepreneurs can already benefit from a exemption for research and development. However, there are many other ways to support innovations and one of them is primarily Innovation Box, used in many countries around the world. This is the first study on this issue in Poland. The work group was inspired by the results given by the representatives of many organizations that shared their knowledge and experience – writes in the introduction to the report Dagmara Krzesińska, president of the Coalition Foundation for Polish Innovation.
The Innovation Box mechanism (in some countries operates under the name Patent Box, Intellectual Property Box or IP Box) is a tax incentive that allows participants to pay significantly lower income tax by enterprises that earn revenues from commercialization of intellectual property rights resulting from research and development.
