The Student Scientific Club of Brewers, operating in the College of Natural Sciences, at the Institute of Biotechnology, University of Rzeszów (UR), has created the first student brewery in Poland – UwaRzone.

The club was initiated by a group of students who are passionate about brewing and want to develop their interests in this area. The supervisor of the Scientific Club of Brewers is Dr Daniel Broda. The club is made up of more than 35 students from various faculties who wish to gain new knowledge and skills in brewing through collaboration.

The students not only learn about the brewing process and develop recipes in the university’s laboratory but have also come up with a name and logo for their brewery.

The UwaRzone brewery operates on a contract brewery basis. This is a type of brewery that does not have its own production facility but rents the production capacity of another existing brewery on a temporary basis to produce its beer.

The students ensure that the UwaRzone brewery will produce its first 20,000 bottles of beer in late April or early May.
