Five European universities launch European Space University for Earth and Humanity

Five European universities have started the UNIVERSEH project. The European Space University for Earth and Humanity is created by the AGH University of Science and Technology in Krakow together with four other partner universities from France, Germany, Luxembourg and Sweden.

The European Space University for Earth and Humanity officially launched its activities during the virtual inaugural ceremony on December 14, 2020. The consortium UNIVERSEH will work for the development of technologies related to the exploration and use of space.

AGH UST partners in the consortium include: University of Toulouse (France – project leader), University of Luxembourg (Luxembourg), Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf (Germany) and the University of Technology in Lulea (Sweden).

The project focuses on four areas: outer space in the context of societal challenges, sustainable space development, space exploration, resources and space settlement.

The UNIVERSEH project was approved by the European Commission under the Erasmus + program in July 2020 and received funding of EUR 5 million.
