The Pomeranian Crisis Management Laboratory at the Gdańsk University of Technology was awarded in the competition “Innovations for the Polish Armed Forces” organized by the Inspectorate of Implementation of Innovative Defense Technologies. The awarded design is a navigational simulator for special operations.
The device is used to create and implement advanced scenarios of soldier training for individual and team navigation in special operations. It operates with aim of a full-size cube virtual CAVE system – 6 screens of 3.4 metres with simultaneous stereoscopic back projection.
The cave is located in the Laboratory of Immersed Spatial Visualization. The soldiers have the impression of being completely immersed in a virtual world that is generated on an ongoing basis. This enables the implementation of realistic training scenarios prepared in the Pomeranian Crisis Management Laboratory.
