Students from the PGRacing Team operating at the Gdansk University of Technology presented their latest construction – the PGR-06 car, which will compete in the prestigious Formula Student competition.
The PGR-06 is the sixth generation of the car and a design created from scratch. Compared to its predecessors, the vehicle differs significantly both technically and visually. The layout has changed and, for the first time ever, a carbon fibre superstructure, so-called monocoque, has been used. The students have also used smaller, 10-inch wheels, and an advanced telemetry system allows real-time data acquisition.
Formula Student is an international engineering competition. Students from top universities from around the world spend a year designing, constructing and building a race car to race on the world’s biggest and most famous race tracks after a testing phase, reports the university.
