A stage lighting company Portman Lights operating in Gdynia has started works to develop lamps for light disinfection. Research on the influence of UV-C light on microorganisms was carried out at the Pomeranian Technology Park Gdynia and at the Gdańsk University of Technology.
– The aim of our research was to check whether the UV-C light actually influences the microorganisms. Later, it was necessary to select the appropriate UV-C light sources, their number, their power and to determine the exposure times for objects (different materials), so that we could design our own device, which is at least 95% effective. – says the managing director of Portman Lights, Dominik Zimakowski.
The lamp will be soon completed and offered at the beginning of the new year. It is supposed to be effective, but above all safe solution. It can be used in homes, offices, schools, clinics, restaurants, hotels, conference centers and larger halls.
