Opole scientists to improve cybersecurity of citizens

22.12.2020

The National Center for Research and Development allocated more than PLN 10 million to the consortium of the University of Opole and the Opole University of Technology. The scientists’ goal is to assess the level of cyber threats and improve the country’s cybersecurity.

The Opole consortium has announced the creation of a mobile application that will scan the user’s environment and inform about any malfunctions in the operation of specific devices.

The data collected in the application will be anonymized (only the region of sender will be known), placed and processed in the computing cloud. This will allow to detect and analyze anomalies, trends and threats in individual security domains and in the entire country.

The collected data will create a collective image with analyzes of cyber threats, enabling effective prevention and early response to emerging threats in the cybersecurity domain.
