The Offshore Centre of the Maritime University of Gdynia (UMG), which will be home to the Maritime Institute and the UMG Centre for Offshore Wind Energy, has opened in Gdansk. The new research and education unit will carry out research and development work for the needs of the maritime industry.
The investment consists of two two-storey buildings with a total usable area of 5,500 m2, connected by a connecting link at the 1st floor level, and is ultimately designed to accommodate around 200 workstations. It houses top-class accredited geotechnical, ecological and electronic laboratories adapted to the requirements of modern maritime industry.
The Maritime University of Gdynia has for years been a leader in the Polish offshore market in the field of environmental studies and the execution of environmental, geophysical, geological and geotechnical documentation for offshore investments, especially in relation to wind energy.
