Graduate of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology awarded by The Mars Generation

Piotr Torchała, graduate of the Mechanical Faculty of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, was one of 24 people worldwide, awarded by The Mars Generation. The jury is appreciating in this way the actions of young people who change the world and their surrounding through science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics.

The laureate studied automation and robotics, and then mechanics and machine construction, and was involved in projects of space engineering. He developed a suspension for the Scorpio Mars rover, designed by the Off-Road Science Club team, and afterwards he became the leader of the entire project and president of the club.

Mars Generation is an American non-profit organization that promotes the education of children and adults highlighting the importance of space exploration for humanity. It also popularizes the use of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art, maths) – a teaching model that is based on adapting the way of acquiring knowledge to the needs of the children.
