Patrycja Czechowska, a graduate of the Wrocław University of Technology is one of the 25 finalists of the international competition for the project of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Abeba in Ethiopia. The competition will be settled in October.

The task of participants in the competition organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic and the Architecture Department of the Czech Technical University in Prague was to design a complex of embassy facilities in Addis Abeba. 281 works were submitted from all over the world. The organizers selected 25 finalists from the Czech Republic, India, China, Iran, Israel, Armenia, Slovakia, Germany, Brazil, Lebanon, Argentina and Poland.

In her design the finalist decided to combine the tradition of Ethiopian architecture with Czech minimalism. Under construction, she wants to use the construction method that has been used in Africa for several thousand years – Rammed Earth i.e. soil compacted in formwork.
