Wroclaw Centenary Hall in the international European project InnovaConcrete

26.09.2019

Scientists from the Department of Building Structures of the Wroclaw University of Technology are participating in the international European project InnovaConcrete. As part of the project, the scientists are testing modern conservation materials to protect historic concrete of Wrocław’s Centenary Hall.

Scientists, under the guidance of Prof. Jerzy Jasieńka, vice-rector of the Wrocław University of Technology are testing impregnants, consolidants, steel nano-inhibitors, hydrophobizers, cleaning gels and bioenzymes that support self-repair of the structure for the Centenary Hall.

The InnovaConcrete project is co-created by an interdisciplinary team of partners responsible for the scientific research of building materials in the field of numerical simulations and laboratory tests. Verification of the effectiveness of the tested and developed materials will be also provided for sculptures by Eduardo Chillid in Spain, Memorial Towers in Italy and Arseniusz Romanowicz Station in Warsaw.
