Every year, more and more University of Wroclaw (UWr) researchers appear in the list of the world’s most influential scientists. A new Top 2 percent ranking compiled by Stanford University and the Elsevier publishing house has been published.

The ranking presents both a list of the most influential researchers, taking into account their entire scientific career (career-long impact ), and the most influential researchers in 2022 (single year impact). The first list includes 25 researchers from UWr, while the second includes 20 researchers from UWr. Last year, the ‘career-long impact’ list also included 25 UWr researchers, while the ‘single year impact’ list included 17.

The ranking is based on the Scopus database. It takes into account indicators such as the number of citations, the Hirsch index, the hm index (a modified Hirsch index taking into account the number of co-authors of an article), as well as an indicator concerning the position and role in the list of authors of a given publication.
