The LUX MED Group, the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) and the Foundation for Economics and Public Administration checked which of Poland’s 66 district-level towns and cities provide the best living conditions.

According to the overall ranking of the Healthy Cities Index, Warsaw is the healthiest city in Poland 2022, followed by Opole and Chorzów at the top.

In addition to the main ranking, the authors of the Index have identified eight categories that are important in terms of living conditions: health, population, municipal and social services, education, housing, environment, infrastructure, space.

“In creating the Healthy Cities Index, we used a survey method using group weighting, estimated with the help of an expert method of hierarchical analysis. Thanks to it, we determined, on the basis of pair-wise comparisons of indicators, which of them are more important and to what extent”, explains Dr Agnieszka Chłoń-Domińczak, Professor of the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), Vice-Rector for Science at the SGH.
