A high-performance computing (HPC) data storage system built and operated by the Poznan Supercomputing and Networking Centre (PSNC) has made it onto the prestigious IO500 list, which compares the fastest HPC data storage systems in the world. PSNC was ranked 10th in the Production category and 161st on the Full list.
These results place the PSNC’s HPC data storage system among the fastest academic and commercial systems, alongside highly ranked European partners.
The system is based on Lustre software. The infrastructure was designed, procured and integrated as part of the nationwide National Data Warehouse and PRACE-LAB2 projects implemented by nine HPC computing centres and universities in Poland.
The PRACE-LAB, PRACE-LAB2 and National Data Warehouse projects are implemented within the framework of the Polish Research Infrastructure Roadmap.
