The National Centre of Science (NCN) announces the IMPRESS-U competition, which aims to support scientific potential in Ukraine and open new possibilities of cooperation between Polish and Ukrainian scientists with scientists from the USA and the Baltic States.

The competition IMPRESS-U (International Multilateral Partnerships for Resilient Education and Science System in Ukraine), is organised by grant institutions from six countries: USA (U.S.NSF and NASEM), Poland (NAWA and NCN), Ukraine (NRFU), Estonia (ETAG), Latvia (LCS) and Lithuania (RCL).

The US National Science Foundation (NSF) is the initiator of the competition and the lead agency where the substantive evaluation of the applications will take place.

The competition is aimed at scientists from Poland, who will plan research in a joint project with scientists from Ukraine and the United States, and optionally from other countries participating in the programme.

The call for applications will run until the end of 2025 or until the pool of available funds at NCN or partner institutions is exhausted. The NCN Council has earmarked PLN 10 million for the funding of projects implemented by Polish teams.
