Innovative flight simulator to be created at the Silesian University of Technology

11.07.2018

Scientists from the Silesian University of Technology are developing a prototype of an innovative flight simulator. The project obtained a grant from the Horizon 2020 program as part of the Research and Innovation Staff Exchange (RISE) funding scheme.

The WrightBroS project (Working in a Collaborative Factory of the Flight Simulators Branch of RISE) will be coordinated by the Virtual Flying Laboratory at the Faculty of Automation, Electronics and Computer Science. The University of Technology will implement it together with partners from Austria – LG Nexera Business Solutions AG from Vienna and from Slovakia – Virtual Reality Media from Trencin, professional flight simulators manufacturers.

The simulator uses the latest developments in augmented reality technology, based on the system created in the project to acquire and process expert procedural knowledge related to service and maintenance.
