Researchers from the Department of Fundamentals of Engineering and Power Engineering at the Institute of Mechanical Engineering at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW) in Warsaw have developed an innovative compressor heat pump design powered by the environmentally friendly refrigerant R290.
According to the Warsaw University of Life Sciences (SGGW), the solution was developed as part of R&D work carried out as part of a project financed by the National Centre for Research and Development entitled: ‘High-efficiency subcritical compressor heat pump with reduced amount of ecological refrigerant’, whose leader is the ReBaNo company.
In addition, researchers from the Department of Fundamentals of Engineering and Energy have developed a sizing programme that allows the unit to be designed individually for specific end-user requirements. Therefore, the equipment can be dedicated to a particular building or industrial process.
