Institute of Human Genetics of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Poznań launches Innovative Medical Center

The Institute of Human Genetics of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IGC) in Poznań has launched the Innovative Medical Center, which will deal with molecular diagnostics of genetic diseases, cancer and rare diseases. This is a natural development of the pro-social activity that IGC conducts in addition to scientific research that is its statutory activity. 

The establishment of the Center will result in a faster and more precise determination of the causes and stages of development of genetic diseases and rare cancers in patients, which will translate into the more effective application of therapeutic therapy and increased chances of cure.

The Institute of Human Genetics in Poznań uses molecular biology methods routinely in its researches, and their use in diagnostics is a natural extension of the competencies of over 80 researchers. Specialists from the Institute have developed the basis for the diagnosis of many genetic and rare diseases what allowed to development of specific therapeutic therapies.
