International Biomaterial Research Center established in Łódź

The Lodz University of Technology (PŁ) is launching the International Center for Innovative Biomaterials Research (ICRI-BioM) – International Research Agenda (MAB) in cooperation with the German Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research in Mainz. It is the only MAB in Łódź and one of 14 in Poland.

At the beginning of September this year, the Lodz University of Technology signed a contract with the Foundation for Polish Science for PLN 1.5 million allocated for the first period of ICRI-BioM, while PLN 31 million has been allocated to the entire project.

In the near future, the scientific activity of the Center will focus on research of materials for encapsulation of drugs. In this regard, the Center is planning the cooperation with the Polish pharmaceutical company ADAMED Pharma S.A. The first director of the International Center for Research on Innovative Biomaterials (ICRI-BioM) – International Research Agenda (MAB) will be selected through an international competition.
