Jagiellonian University launches new University Hospital

– Our Jagiellonian University (UJ) has launched a hospital of the 21st century. This is a serious reason to be proud – said the rector of the Jagiellonian University Prof. Wojciech Nowak during the opening of the largest and most modern medical complex in Poland, as well as one of the most innovative in Europe.

The new University Hospital in Prokocim will meet its first patients in a month.

This is a great value for patients of Krakow, the Malopolska Region and generally Poland. The University Hospital is not only a therapeutic but also a teaching unit: it teaches students and doctors. This is a kind of laboratory for gaining experience, for learning new things in the field of all medical sciences – said the rector of the Jagiellonian University.

The University Hospital complex consists of 13 buildings with a total usable area of ​​110,000. sq m. There are 24 operating rooms, a hospital emergency department, 25 clinical departments, 27 specialist clinics and an administrative premises.
