Student of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology to develop app for virtual rehabilitation for people after a stroke

04.11.2019

Małgorzata Marzec, a student of the IT and management department of the Wrocław University of Science and Technology, will implement the project “Rehabilitation after a stroke using virtual reality and location algorithm”. The grant will be received from the program “The best of the best! 4.0” of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

The Wrocław student’s idea is a game in which the participant’s task is to catch and move colored balls into appropriate containers. The level of difficulty in individual stages increases systematically, and extra points are awarded for correctly performed actions, which are an additional motivational factor.

To create the application, the student used Oculus Rift goggles, i.e. the virtual reality system, Leap Motion technology, which allows users to track all their fingers and have control in a virtual environment and the Blender program, which is specialized 3D software for creating computer graphics.
