Jagiellonian University to hold XI Days of American Culture

The Scientific Club of American Studies of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow in cooperation with the International Migration Club of the Jagiellonian University and the Institute of American Studies and Polish Diaspora of the Jagiellonian University are inviting participants to the XI American Culture Days – students and PhD students scientific conference.

This year, the organizers are planning to focus on those parts of the history of the United States, which Americans prefer not to talk about, and history would prefer to forget. To understand the problems plaguing the USA, the participants of the conference will address uncomfortable, embarrassing pages of USA’s history.

The speeches presented at the conference are to deal with such issues as: consequences of American military interventions, criticism of American political culture, criticism of American culture, criticism of entertainment industry, problems of ethnic, racial and national minorities, problems related to social care and education.
