Jagiellonian University to offer the Julia Zdanowska Scholarship

Scientifically outstanding students and graduates of Ukrainian secondary schools who intend to study at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the Jagiellonian University in Krakow in the academic year 2022/2023 may participate in the competition for the Scholarship of Julia Zdanowska, which commemorates young Ukrainian mathematicians – victims of Russian aggression against Ukraine.

21-year-old Julia Zdanowska, a medalist of the European Girls’ Mathematical Olympiad (EGMO), graduate of computer mathematics at the Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University, a teacher of computer science and mathematics under the “Teach For Ukraine” initiative, which is part of the international network “Teach For All”, died on March 3, 2022 in Kharkiv, working as a volunteer.

The scholarship in the amount of PLN 1,500 net per month will be granted for the entire period of undergraduate studies at the Jagiellonian University and will be paid for 12 months a year.
