Experts from the Information Processing Centre (OPI) have added a new feature to the Unified Anti-Plagiarism System (JSA), which, as early as February 2024, will allow any unit running a degree or doctoral school to check completely free of charge whether a thesis was written using artificial intelligence. The new OPI solution will allow plagiarism to be combated even more effectively at all levels of study.
JSA is a state-of-the-art tool that was developed in response to the expectations of Polish academics and has brought order to the anti-plagiarism market in Poland.
“With the introduction of JSA, we have ensured that the results of verification of the originality of theses are more comparable between all centres across Poland than in previous years. Recently, however, a new challenge has emerged, namely the growing popularity of tools for the automatic generation of content. Therefore, we immediately set to work to add a function to JSA that will help supervisors identify whether a thesis was written using tools such as the popular ChatGPT,” said Dr Jarosław Protasiewicz, Director of OPI.
