Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz wins in Paris

Employees of the Institute of Materials Science and Engineering of the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz won two silver medals at the 121st International Invention Fair “Concours Lépine” in Paris.

The awards were made for the inventions “Green reactive chemical raw materials as an alternative to toxic commercial flame retardants used in the polyurethane industry”, and “Biopolyol reducing flammability based on white mustard oil (Sinapis alba) dedicated to rigid polyurethane foams for construction”

The “Concours Lépine” fair, organized since 1901, is the oldest event of this type promoting inventions and innovations. During its over 120 years of activity, the fair has promoted many important inventions from various industries and fields, including: two-stroke engine, heat turbine, 3D printer, artificial heart, artificial lung (iron lung), blood transfusion device, contact lenses and many other.
