Students of the Rotor Science Club, operating at the Carpathian State Higher School in Krosno are conducting research on the structure of layered polymer composites, which will be used in their car model.

For this purpose, they intend to allocate the award of the Minister of Education and Science in the amount of PLN 70,000, which they received as part of the “Students create innovation” program.

With their car, they will compete in the international Shell Eco-marathon. The aim of the event is to cover the longest possible distance on one liter of fuel.

Students from Krosno participated in the last four competitions (taking place on tracks in London and the Netherlands), each time improving their results. In the last competition (in 2019), they achieved the result of 749 kilometers driven on one liter of ethanol.

-Now we are designing a new vehicle that will be the successor to our current car and we hope it will achieve much better results – says Krzysztof Ochałek, project supervisor.

The vehicle will be made of carbon, carbon-aramid and carbon-vector composites.
