Rector of the University of Zielona Góra, Prof. Wojciech Strzyżewski and the Marshal of the Lubuskie Voivodeship, Elżbieta Anna Polak, signed a cooperation agreement aimed at retention of well-educated young people in the region. The agreement will be implemented under the conditions of the updated voivodship development strategy, in which the role of the university has significantly increased.
– We are focusing not only on the green land of modern technologies, but most of all on innovative technologies. Without the intellectual potential provided by our universities, with the leading position of the University of Zielona Góra, the implementation of our priorities would not be possible – says Marshal Polak.
The local government of the Lubuskie Province has been co-financing medical studies at the university for 6 years and paying out scholarships for future doctors. The local government will also financially support new faculties opened by the University. This year it will amount to almost PLN 1 million.
