The Rector of the Maria Curie-Sklodowska University in Lublin (UMCS), Professor Radosław Dobrowolski, and Tomasz Fulara, President of the Management Board of MPK Lublin, signed an agreement on cooperation concerning the creation of safety systems in hydrogen buses using the competencies of UMCS scientists.

The President of the Management Board of MPK Lublin explained what aspects the cooperation established under the signed agreement will be concerned.

“We hope that our cooperation with UMCS will start with assessing the safety of using hydrogen technology and end with the production of hydrogen on site at our depot and its consumption while driving in public transport”, said Tomasz Fulara.

Dr Paweł Mergo, Professor of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University, Head of the Fibre Optic Technology Laboratory, detailed that the Lublin-based university will be involved in the creation of special sensors based on fibre optic technology, which will monitor the entire vehicle and if even a small leak occurs, a warning will be given.
