The Łukasiewicz – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals launched the project “Powder feedstock production and 3D printing of refractory metals and alloys for aerospace applications” financed by the M-ERA.NET 2 program. The project is carried out by a Polish-Canadian consortium.
The aim of the project is to develop new spheroidal powders from high-melting metals, for which sintering parameters will be prepared in the Laser Powder-Bed Fusion process, which will enable the production of materials for components of devices operating in extreme conditions.
The M-ERA.NET 2 program is designed to coordinate research and development works carried out in the Member States of the European Union. The program is also developing cooperation between partners from other countries and will allow access to new markets and innovative solutions.
