Łukasiewicz – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals to develop a technology for the production of metal powders based on titanium alloys

15.06.2021

Scientists from Łukasiewicz – Institute of Non-Ferrous Metals will carry out the project “Development and optimization of the powder production process for additive manufacturing technologies using production waste as a feedstock”.

The project is conducted by the Institute and Progresja New Materials Sp. z o. o. It assumes the development of a comprehensive industrial technology for the production of non-ferrous powders based on titanium alloys with the use of production waste such as shavings from machining processes and oversized grain from conventional powder production processes.

Implementation of the project will result in the development of industrial additive manufacturing technologies and the extending the scope of these technologies, as well as other related technologies, such as Plasma Transferred Arc plasma deposition or flame spraying. The total cost of the research is over PLN 3.4 million.
