Scientists to receive PLN 170 million in competitions of the National Science Center

The National Science Center has launched MAESTRO and SONATA BIS competitions. The applications for both competitions can be submitted for funding pioneering projects in the basic research and projects aimed at establishing a new research team. The National Science Center (NCN) will award PLN 170 million in both competitions.   

The MAESTRO 13 competition is addressed to experienced scientists who are planning to conduct research important for the development of science, beyond the current state of knowledge. The budget of this competition is PLN 20 million.

The SONATA BIS 11 competition will finance projects aimed at creating a new research team. This SONATA BIS will allocate a budget of PLN 150 million.

In both competitions, scientists can receive funds for remuneration for their research team, purchase or production of scientific equipment and coverage of other expenses necessary to implement the planned activities. There is no funding limit for a project in both competitions for proposals. Research may be scheduled for 36, 48 or 60 months.
