Poland and Slovakia will carry out a joint research project in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. As part of it, Łukasiewicz – Polish Center for Technology Development (PORT) and prestigious Slovak research centers will seek solutions for effective monitoring and reducing the risk of the spread of a pandemic.

The project “Research and development of a telemedicine system monitoring the spread of COVID-19 and the development of analytical tools to reduce the risk of infection” will be carried out in the consortium of the Slovak Technical University, Comenius University and the Network Łukasiewicz – PORT.

The goal is to create a prototype system to identify social interactions and monitor the spread of SARS-Cov-2 virus. Researchers will focus especially on places with increased risk – including companies, hospitals, schools and mass events. More than EUR 2 million from Slovak EU funds has been allocated to research.
