The Clinic of Nephrology and Transplant Medicine of the Medical University of Wroclaw will implement the ProDial project in the field of personalized medicine thanks to funds from the ERA PerMed competition (ERA-NET network). The budget of the consortium co-created by the Universities of Halle and Wittenberg and the University of Leipzig is over 870 thousand euro.
ProDial (Patient-Reported Outcome, Biodata and Process Data to Evaluate DIAlysis Tolerability) aims to collect patient-relevant symptoms, assess quality of life, and continuously record biomedical data during and after dialysis sessions (e.g., dialysis fluctuations, heart rate variability).
Biomedical data will be combined with hemodialysis parameters (e.g. vascular access, ultrafiltration volumes, electrolyte levels) to optimize therapy for each patient individually. Patients will wear biomedical data recorders for a week (RR, HRV analysis, sleep, physical activity).
