Professor Marcin Drąg of the Wrocław University of Technology becomes a laureate of the “Polish Nobel Prize”

Professor Marcin Drąg from the Chemical Faculty of the Wrocław University of Technology became a laureate of the Foundation for Polish Science Award, the so-called Polish Nobel Prize. This is the most important scientific award granted in Poland.

The laureate works at the Department of Bioorganic Chemistry and specializes in biological and medical chemistry. He was recognized for developing a new technology platform enabling the production of biologically active compounds, in particular inhibitors of proteolytic enzymes. This platform can be used to develop new therapies, medicines or diagnostic methods.

The Foundation’s awards are granted for special scientific achievements and discoveries that expand the cognition and open new cognitive perspectives, make an outstanding contribution to the civilization and cultural progress of our country and assure Poland as a significant scientific environment to solve the most ambitious challenges of the modern world.
