The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice is beginning implementation of an innovative “Standardized / Simulated Patient Program”. The main objective of the project is to support the student education process by including specially trained people for simulation activities, exercises and practical examinations.
The Simulated Patient is a person who can realistically reproduce the history of the disease by imitating physical symptoms and emotional reactions of a real patient. The Standardized Patient plays a role in a repeatable way, giving the students possibility to practice a certain skill in identical or similar conditions.
Playing clinical situations will allow future medics to acquire the skills, develop a good relationship with the patient, develop emotional intelligence, provide difficult talk and conduct the diagnostics. The university invites people aged 18 and plus who have completed at least secondary education and have passion for acting.
