The Upper Silesian Medical Centre of the Silesian Medical University (SUM) in Katowice has officially opened its Clinical Research Support Centre. The centre was funded by the Agency for Medical Research (ABM); in partnership with its clinical hospitals, SUM obtained over PLN 9.3 million from the ABM for this purpose.
The establishment of the facility is of extraordinary importance to patients, as it gives them the opportunity to benefit from innovative therapies and definitely increases their chances of success in obtaining effective treatment results.
“Life and health are the most important values for every human being. It is the duty and privilege of scientists to search for new medical technologies and solutions to restore and maintain good health. That is why I am extremely pleased that today we can cut the ribbon opening the SUM Clinical Research Support Centre in Katowice, which was created for patients,” said Professor Tomasz Szczepański, rector of SUM, during the opening ceremony.
