The Medical University of Silesia in Katowice has concluded an agreement on scientific and research cooperation with VentilAid, a non-profit organization joining engineers and designers who implement projects supporting medical service in the fight against the pandemic.

The university enabled the company to conduct tests by connecting a prototype of a respirator printed with a 3-D printer to a medical simulator. Based on the obtained measurement data, engineers can confirm the correct operation of the respirator in accordance with the set values.

Due to their value, advancement and the staff, high-fidelity simulators are available only in a few centres in Poland, therefore the testing possibilities are very limited. The scientific support offered to the developers of the device by the staff of the Center for Didactics and Medical Simulation is not without significance.
